Gregory Rodriguez has spent nearly two decades traveling the US in search of the right space to build something meaningful. The Editorial is what he found — a private, boutique salon suite in Midtown Houston built around one belief: that great hair comes from a real relationship between stylist and client.
Trained in precision cutting, color, and editorial styling, Gregory has educated himself through programs including Goldwell Trendzoom, John Paul Mitchell Systems' The Gathering, and Wella's professional education program — where he earned recognition as a Master Colorist. His creative work has taken him into the editorial world, including a styling role for IKONIK Magazine.
Since July 4, 2025, The Editorial has operated as an official Maria Nila Concept Salon — every color, treatment, and backbar product exclusively Maria Nila. It's a commitment that reflects the same standard Gregory holds every service to: exceptional results without compromise.
The Editorial is proud to be a Maria Nila concept salon — every color, treatment, and backbar product in our suite comes from this Swedish hair care house. It wasn't a decision Gregory made lightly.
Maria Nila began in 1999 in a small garage in southern Sweden, founded by the Wikström family and named for founder Ann's great-grandmother — a woman who lived by the Sámi principle of respecting nature and wildlife. That founding belief still runs through every formula the brand makes today: beauty shouldn't come at the cost of an animal, the environment, or the truth on the label.
Every Maria Nila product is 100% vegan and cruelty-free, certified by PETA, Leaping Bunny, and The Vegan Society — never tested on animals, never made with animal-derived ingredients. The brand's packaging is climate compensated, and Maria Nila partners with reforestation projects across South America to offset their footprint with every product made.
For Gregory, the choice came down to something simple: Maria Nila's color-protecting, sulfate- and paraben-free formulas deliver real, professional results — the kind of shine and longevity clients notice immediately — without asking anyone to compromise their values to get them. That combination, exceptional performance and genuine ethics, is exactly the standard The Editorial holds itself to in everything else.
Evelyn is a licensed cosmetologist and apprentice stylist at The Editorial Houston — a vivid color specialist whose eye for bold, dimensional work and bleach transformations has defined her path since she first picked up a brush. What began as a deep personal obsession with color has evolved into a focused, education-driven career built around hair that makes a statement.
Her specialties center on experimental color, bright dimension, and lived-in looks that translate beautifully into everyday life. Styling and pin-up finishing are where her technical range shines — those final details that elevate color into something complete.
Evelyn brings a calm, intentional presence to every appointment — a space where clients feel at ease, seen, and leave looking exactly like themselves, only sharper. She is available Fridays only and takes clients eager to try something new with a stylist who is fully invested in the result.
